How to make a horse head out of paper mache. Use wool for the mane, or, if you know someone with horses, ask if you could borrow a little bit off the tail. I made sure the piece would stand up on it’s own, and it feels fairly stable. As with the newspaper, apply the first layer very wet and top with a dry layer to soak up extra paste.
Another addition to boo’s playroom….a paper mache unicorn head! I then used masking tape to attach the legs that i cut out yesterday. Dip the strips in the paste and layer over the newspaper.
Leave the shapes on the drawing table and gather up some junk and get busy with these paper mache animal heads. After the “basic” horse was complete, i covered it with paste (wall paper glue) and stripes: Take one corner and fold it diagonally. Allow to dry on wax paper overnight.
